DiY - textured nails

don't be sad if you can't jump on ciate's caviar nails bandwagon because it's sold out.

just mix clear polish with microbeads:
I haven't tried it yet, but I do wonder how it must feel to pick your nose with it..
..just sayin

rest in peace..

you are better now, is heaven as glorious as you imagined it to be?

I had a dream this morning, someone passed
and I've never seen so many beautiful flowers in one place in my life..

my current fetish

I remember seeing a pastel baby birdie at the bronx zoo and falling in love..
let's just say, my direction has changed from my original idea.

it's okay. that's supposed to happen. like, 5 billion times.

thank you national geographic

:D I'm really excited right now, because I think I just figured out
what the theme to my first collection will be - and appropriately so.

I got my first subscriptions to national geographic yesterday,
and I got the idea while flipping through them today.
which means I can finally start sketching some legit ideas now :)
I'm also excited that it's not something "on trend", so hopefully it'll be fresh!

however inspirational these images are, they are far from the ones that inspired me. ;)

tip

in my previous post, I suggested wearing heels to maximize your height in a maxi dress.
but as much as I love love love the magic of heels, I wear flats 90% of my life.

hence my discovery - it works so much better than cushions, or gels,
which make your feet feel tight in your shoes.

stick these blister version band aids on the ball of your feet -
the area just under your big toe.

they have just the right amount of cushion and I can walk a marathon in any heels!
even if the bottom of your shoes are straight up wood~

cmyk

sorry, if you hate bugs (I HATE bugs!!! my sister esp. hates ants..)

but my sister-in-law sent me this today,
once you get over the creepy crawly factor, it is pretty neat-O~

speaking of ants - they used to be my "best friends" - a la 'imaginary friends'
we had some ant holes in our back yard
so, on the first day of school ever, I put them in my yellow dress' front kangaroo pocket
ya know - like a security blanket~
they were crawling up to my neck all day and I had to brush them back into the pocket.
it's such a vivid memory, holding my mom's hand in a new building,
walking up the stairs, and I would secretly peak into my pocket to check up on them.

one size fits all

V Magazine  dedicated the issue to plus-size and ALL-size beauties.
They used 2 models: one typically skinny, one voluptuously plus-size
and they’re wearing identical outfits.

Crystal Renn took on a typically slim model to prove fashion CAN flatter any figure.

Renn herself has written a book detailing her own battle with the modeling industry,
and the pressure to be thin:
The book tells how she developed an eating disorder that nearly killed her, and the extreme lengths she went to in order to obtain a fashion-thin body.

Now a staunch campaigner against identical catwalk models, she said: ‘I’d love to see the fashion industry open their eyes to the variety of women. That variety is what’s beautiful.
target market? The AVERAGE woman who is 5’4” tall and weighs 140 pounds, NOT the average American model stands 5’11” tall and weighs 117 pounds.
