my birthday suit

been up sooo early trying to get my hands on that mary katrantzou and semi-succeeded
but I don't feel like talking about it right now.

I have to run to the factory for work and send out wedding invites.
I feel like a chicken running around with my head off.

today's outfit.. so happy to not feel pressured to wear my line and relax :)

can you tell I'm ready for spring??
it's really a beautiful winter this year

I splurged since it's my day, I let myself eat whatever I desired.
and that is. bacon. oh how I love bacon!!

I re-read half my favorite book in-between things this morning.
it makes me laugh and it's so fantastical.
I'm sure it will be a huge part of my spring inspiration.

don't worry, I still squeezed in lots of fun things so will be back with more updates!

DiY - bookshelf makeover

when we moved in together,
he insisted on keeping his old bookshelf, and put his foot down about replacing it..
a few months pass, and I still can't stand how it doesn't blend into our apartment.

so a few weeks ago, I decided to paint it.
here's the after:

I left the insides the original dark brown color, but I like the unique end result!
I did it with a white trim look, because I didn't want the books to possibly get stuck on the paint job.

lucky for me, when I drag him to anthropologie with me,
he doesn't join the other bored boyfriends on the couch, he actually enjoys the store~
so we picked up these candle holders together. I couldn't believe they were on sale for $19.99,
because I think these are very "jonathan adler"-esque and even prettier~

more decorations

after - the room feels so much more fresh and open
with the white bookshelf blending into the walls

before: it felt gloomy.....

how to do it - preferably get house paint or acrylic paint of your choice.
I didn't use primer, but have the sales associate guide you.
blue painters tape is a must for clean lines! cover the areas you don't want to paint.
make sure you protect your walls and floor!!

consider all the details - I moved the snoopy collage to the same wall as the bookshelf
and painted the frame white to match

chanel no. 5

I am putting this on my wall as decor~

what a pretty bridal shower invitation inspiration! hmmm :)

I got so excited when I saw a little black book that came with my vogue subscription.
I knew it was something chanel, but how cute!!

matches my new "blinds" that we set up for the engagement shoot
(not sure that any of those photos came out good.. I'll reuse these too.. for the shower~?)

prepping for the engagement shoot!

my photographer was 30 mins late,
and bora was over to help me get ready, so she was our impromptu photog! :)
we "practiced" by taking some silly shots while we waited~

fixing my gosh darn hair!!!.....

(remember this painting I did? I moved it to the bedroom from the living room)

he's reading his wine book and I've got my vogue, of course~

(cute masks from h&m!)

petit h... sold out!

so... remember yesterday's post?
I thought it wouldn't hurt to give them a call and they said they have merchandise in stock.

"limited edition" = "good investment"
"hermes" = "good investment"
put the two together and here's my idea of a "great investment"~

at least I know what I'm getting my bridesmaids as a thank you gift!

coco upgraded her brown boxes for orange ones

the petit h line comes with a cute hermes printed charm~
I'm going to use mine as maybe a cell phone charm.

I didn't want to open the boxes because they're too pretty..
so bucky is guarding them for now~

inside are mostly jewelry made from their beautiful signature scarves.
and one orange simple croc bracelet~

yes, I wiped them clean - of anything affordable at least~~
it's like a mini museum there - this one brown medor/yellow scarf chest is fantastic.

searching for

a fun book.

any recommendations for a whimsical book with a tone like alice in wonderland?
it really is so fun to read.. but I need something new~

and my favorite movie is lord of the rings, if that helps

diary of adam & eve

I posted an excerpt on an april 20th post from mark twain's diary of eve

read it on the train yesterday, and I thought it was beautifully written
(with the best one-line ending!!)
my fiance later told me it was written after the death of his wife..
eve, in his book, is really really cute..

then we read together adam's diary before bed, and laughed so hard
we couldn't help but see ourselves in his depiction of husband and wife
it's a wonderful short read, and I highly recommend it~

25 cents

it's been a little while, so I want to do some illustrations today..
I'll take a look at my book of vintage vogue covers for some inspiration
I especially love the asian influenced ones
